Kitty is growing up

Kitty is now five weeks old

and has been checked by the vet,

and she is doing just fine.

she is definitely a girl.

she is very, very active.

kittens are amazing

we are so amazed at the changes

in Kitty in just four short weeks.

from a teeny tiny ball of fur

to a creature that runs, plays,

eats from a dish,

finds and uses a litter box....

and loves us back.

that's the very best thing.

a month later....

Kitty has been with us for a month today.

yesterday she ate her first food out of a bowl

instead of a bottle.

today she ate almost as much as she got

on her face. almost.

Kitty also uses a litter box pretty well.

and can run really really fast.

go, Kitty, go!

Kitty sleeping

Kitty spends quite a bit of her time asleep.

(we think Kitty's a girl)

She sleeps in many positions,

but our favorite is Kitty sleeping on her back.

Kitty enjoys a good stretch, too.

oh, and Kitty is walking quite a bit.

and will soon be drinking from a dish instead of a bottle.

slow down, Kitty! don't grow up too fast.

Kitty will be three weeks old tomorrow.

Kitty is two weeks old!

Kitty loves to sleep.

Kitty has started to walk a bit.

and Kitty can sit up quite nicely.

we think Kitty is a genius.

we have finally recovered enough from Kitty's party to post some photos.

we had cake. and wine.

this is an adoption success story.

one of Kitty's relatives is named Lois.

she came from the pound.

she was very skinny, underfed,

had had many litters and

been treated very badly.

Lois is a different dog today.

her weight has doubled.

her hair is very luxurious.

she is the sweetest dog on the planet.

and she can twirl on her hind legs.

we got her. even the vet thought

she must be part Chinese Crested.

Kitty's feline friends

Kitty has some neutered feline friends in the neighborhood.

these feral cats have been captured, innoculated, spayed and released

by a non-profit group called Borough Cat Tales

in Stonington, Connecticut.

Kitty is now six days old.

this newborn kitten was found on a waterfront dock by a local fisherman. we have no idea how it got there or where its mother is. we have been hand rearing it ever since, feeding it every two to three hours around the clock.

motherhood is wonderful.
